About
As an Arizona criminal defense attorney, I love my job because I have the honor and privilege of helping people in need. The people I defend are good people who may have made a mistake, people who may have the government coming down on them without cause. My hope is that this publication will educate the public on important criminal and social law issues, not just be an outlet for me to describe criminal law in dry black and white terms, but to show a side to things that isn't shown enough. I hope that someday the “presumption of innocence” will be an actual fact among the public, and not just a legal fiction that courts enforce.
I gained the bulk of my trial experience as a Pima County public defender, representing defendants in felony and misdemeanor cases. In 2005, a panel of federal judge appointed me to represent indigent defendants as a member of the Criminal Justice Act Defense Panel.
I represent people in all areas of criminal law, from simple traffic court matters in city to complicated drug cases in Federal Court to criminal appeals.
